Greetings!

Mobridge Economic Development Corporation will again offer a $250

scholarship to an area junior student for the purpose of attending the 2012

Youth Business Adventure (YBA) Camp. (www.yba-sd.org)  There are two

sessions to choose from: 

June 3th – 8th at Black Hills State Campus 

June 17th -22nd at USD.   

Not only is this an overall great immersion experience in

the world of small business, but it is another positive element for those

future college and scholarship applications. 

I understand that the YBA organization has the application forms online.

The deadline for this MEDCO scholarship is April 15th.  In order to be

considered, students will need to send me a copy of their YBA application

along with a typed cover letter describing: 

1.  His/her interest in business ownership/entrepreneurship  2. Type of

business s/he would like to start someday  3. Why would s/he be a good

representative of the local community

The selection will be made by the MEDCO Board of Directors.  MEDCO will pay

the tuition for the student directly to the YBA organization and then

provide the student with a check for $100 in travel expenses.  In return, we

ask for the student to attend a future Board meeting to describe their

experiences with this camp.  If the student selected cannot attend, then we

will make the same scholarship offer to the applicant with the next highest

points from their response to the above questions.
