Oscar Howe's widow dies in Indiana

As Oscar Howe gained increasing fame as an artist (including the murals at Mobridge's Scherr Howe Arena), his wife Heidi was the spark plug that ignited his career. She not only managed family matters providing him time to make art, she was his business manager and studio assistant. Her organizational skills and her industry were impressive to all who knew the couple.

Taylor Anderson of Elkton-Lake Benton hit a game winning three-pointer as the Elks defeated Herreid 56-55 in the opening round of the State B Basketball Tournament. It never got better for the Yellowjackets. They were beaten 69-47 by Viborg and 61-59 by Hitchcock-Tulare, proving the Barnett Center in Aberdeen to be an unfriendly host.
